Giulio & Sons Restaurant in the Adoba Hotel in Dearborn

I was invited to dinner at Giulio & Sons with 3 other amazing local bloggers in exchange for our honest reviews. Giulio & Sons Restaurant is actually located inside the Adoba Hotel in Dearborn (on the 2nd floor). I was really excited to dine at Giulio & Sons because I've heard great things about their dining experience in the past. Appetizer

We were seated at our table and were able to try their delicious garlic bread and artichoke dip. The bread recipe has been used at Adoba Hotel for 25 years! It was very delicious, crunchy, and flavorful. We like it so much we asked for seconds. I didn't know if I would like the artichoke dip at first glance. I've never had artichoke before, so I was really hesitant to try it. After I saw Gwen try some with her bread, I decided to as well. To my surprise it was really good.

We had the Grilled Vegetable Timbale for our appetizer which was a combination of fresh mozzarella, organic mix greens, port wine, and carrot reduction. There was also a side of cantaloupe salad as well which I thought was especially tasty. The mozzarella is made fresh in the restaurant and you can really taste the authenticity of it as you're eating it. It was the first time I had freshly made mozzarella so it was and interesting experience for me. Wedged between the mozzarella were mushrooms and I really hate mushrooms, but I decided to give it a few tries before sliding it out completely. The mushrooms were okay. The organic mixed greens tasted wonderfully fresh as well. I really enjoyed the overall presentation of this dish. It was beautiful and delicious.

Main Course: Gnocchi

I've never had Gnocchi before, let alone homemade Gnocchi, so this was a treat! The Gnocchi was so delicious! It was beautifully made and included some vegetables like spinach and tomatoes which I thought added a nice balance to the dish. I thought the Gnocchi was very tender and thick. It was filling and I felt like I was eating a meaty dish because of how dense it was, which was great. I actually opted for the vegetarian dish last minute and Chef Gabriel kindly made this for me that day. So sweet! I would definitely order this again.

Dessert: Chocolate Trio

I was so full from the Gnocchi that I almost had no room for the dessert. Right off the bat I thought the presentation was beautiful! There was a chocolate cake with a raspberry wedge, white chocolate sauce, chocolate mousse, and a chocolate truffle with a citrus topping. The flavor combinations were delicious. Chef Gabriel actually poured our white chocolate sauce for us so we can get an idea of how the dessert is served and meant to be eaten. He suggested we take a little of everything in one bite which I thought was awesome. The dessert was really rich and decadent. Not too chocolatey and not too sweet. It was perfect. Definitely something I would have again as well.

Dining Experience

Our waiters kindly seated us, refilled our drinks, cleared our dishes between meals, asked if we needed anything and were so kind. Chef Gabriel came out to us for each meal to explain the dishes and the ingredients and to just give us a little background before digging in, which I thought was so helpful. He told us that they use locally grown organic produce and prepare their meals using the freshest ingredients and it really shows. The dishes were all unique and delightful. I was very satisfied and I think I would definitely go back. The price ranges are very affordable and especially if you're looking to dine with a special someone it would be a great place to do so. The atmosphere is so relaxed and elegant.
