It’s officially ‘back to school’ time in my house. I started my fall semester of classes yesterday and if I’m being honest, I still have some items to buy on my Back To School shopping list. I always wait until the last minute to get school supplies because I don’t always need a ton of things each semester. But now that my little one starts Kindergarten, I have more on my shopping list this year.

When I go school supplies shopping for myself, I usually only need some binders, notebooks, and writing utensils. Maybe a calculator will present itself on my list if I’m taking a math course, but those are pretty much my basics. I’ll grab some smaller items like paperclips, a mini-stapler, and some sharpie pens. But it doesn’t get too serious for me.

Now that my little one is starting school this year, I’m shopping for things like crayons, markers, glue, scissors, construction paper, flashcards, backpacks and lunch boxes– you name it. I remember at his age, school supply shopping was my favorite because we would come home with a container full of crayons and I could color for days.

Like I’ve mentioned before, I usually do my grocery shopping at Meijer because they have affordable prices and great rewards and coupons I can use while shopping. But Meijer also carries a variety of school supplies, too!

I found folders for just $0.17 cents! Definitely a stock-up price. I also managed to find $1 binders amongst a variety of already low-priced items like crayons, sharpie pens, glue, and even backpacks were on sale. Their Back To School section was really impressive and I could find everything I needed for both me and my son. Plus, I can easily grab these items as Im picking up our weekly groceries because everything I need is in one place. Its very convenient for us.

On top of that, I save even more when using mPerks every time and a little definitely goes a long way. I’ve already saved over $80 this year using mPerks alone. How cool is that? Learn more about mPerks in a previous blog post.

What are your favorite finds when school supply shopping?
