Ken Paves Salon in Clinton Township

I was recently invited to the Ken Paves Salon to try out their service and their You Are Beautiful Collection and let me just say that I was totally impressed. Ken Paves Salon in Clinton Township has an excellent team of stylists that pride themselves on “bringing Hollywood home”. They ensure that their clients leave happy with their new looks and guide them through the maintenance process as well.

My first impression when I walked in was WOW! I was blown away with how beautiful the salon is and promptly greeted by the receptionist who took my name and asked if I needed any coffee or water. We then proceeded with a quick tour of the salon where I was able to grab some photos of the set up before returning to the waiting area to wait for my stylist.

The salon has a really classic and vintage vibe to it that I really appreciated. Everywhere you turn you’ll find evidence of Ken Paves’ signature style. The waiting area was really welcoming and felt very snug, you just feel right at home. From the rugs and the dressers to the trinkets you'll find in between, it was all very well thought-out.

Even though it was raining that day, the salon was well-lit with the most beautiful chandeliers throughout. The lighting offered a glamorous aspect to the salon that you won't find in most. The vibe and the energy of the salon just makes you feel like you're a superstar getting ready for the red carpet. I seriously love the huge curtains upon entering the styling area, I think it's such a great idea to have in case you need added privacy.

I was styled by the beautiful Nora who was so incredibly sweet! She's been working at the Ken Paves salon since 2010 and specializes in the balayage technique, extensions, cuts and styling. Before styling we talked about the condition of my hair and what my overall hair goals were regarding styles and color. Nora really knows her stuff! I'm really thinking of re-vamping my hair color for the fall, so I will definitely be back to see just how awesome her balayage technique is soon!

There is an area for washing where you'll find a variety of shampoos, conditioners, and treatments. Nora used products from the You Are Beautiful collection to show me just what kind of results I can expect when using these at home, too. The results were amazing! More on that soon. She also used a volumizing spray to give my hair a bit of boost before starting the blowout. You'll also find an area where you'll be seated when waiting for your hair color to process which seems very relaxed and comfortable. I love the big mirror! Perfect for taking photos while you're waiting for your hair to process (;

Along the wall you'll find Ken Paves "You Are Beautiful" Collection which I will discuss in further detail in another blog post. I love the selection they offer and seeing the entire line along the wall like that was so inspiring.

Along the walls you'll find amazing portraits of beautiful women and each station is unique to the other which gives the salon a nice touch. In each station you'll find vintage chairs, gorgeous dressers that are equip with everything your stylist needs for you– brushes, combs, blow dryers, hair products, pins, and more. The mirrors are each station are HUGE so you can see exactly what's going on in terms of your hair style, which is great.

My blowout didn't take long at all, which is very impressive since I have really long hair. Nora talked to me throughout the entire process which I thought was really nice. I know some hairstylists who prefer to just do their work in silence to get the job done as soon as they can, but Nora made me feel right at home. She used an interesting technique while doing my blowout which was putting these large rollers in my hair after each section while my hair was cooling down. At first I had no idea what was going on until she explained to me that it would help give me hair more volume and bounce. So I was like heck yeah, let's do it! After my hair cooled down she took out the large rollers and styled my hair in the direction of the natural waves and my hair looked so flawless. I was so excited because we were having a family gathering later in the day, so I totally showed off.

Overall, I was so happy with the service at the Ken Paves salon. The staff was so friendly and caring and they all had a really great vibe towards their clients and each other. The salon was really clean and beautiful and the stylists' techniques were impressive. Although it was about an hour drive for me to get there, I would totally consider going back because I really enjoyed my visit. I felt really welcomed and I felt like I could really trust my stylist with my hair right away. I loved this salon and I will definitely be going back again.
