Maleficent: Modern Day Style Inspiration

Maleficent in modern day style– my take, and a new banner from the film!

maleficent-style-inspirationI am so excited about the new Maleficent movie coming out this May! To count down the days, I decided to do something fun and showcase Maleficent’s style if she were ruling the runway in today’s world.

This is my own personal style, with a dark and sultry twist inspired by the dark fairy herself. It captures the mystery and mood of Maleficent’s character with a touch of modern day style.

The Pieces:

Beautiful black long-sleeve lace dress similar to the dress from House of Fraser. I chose to showcase the black lace dress because it reminds me of the dark forest with the lace similar to the tangling branches of the trees.

NARS Bronzer in Laguna to emphasize her high-cheek bones. Use a small chisel brush to apply this to the hallows just below your cheeks to create depth and precision.

The Kat Von D foiled love lipstick in adore is a gorgeous red creates a similar look that she wears throughout the movie. A classic red lip never goes out of style.

A Michael Kors black leather satchel because leather and lace go perfectly together. Plus, every girl needs a great handbag.

The Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette has 12 shades of beautifully pigmented colors in an array of rose, neutral, and cool undertones that will match any skin tone and eye color.

The Urban Decay Nail Polish in Addiction is a perfect gunmetal color to really pull the entire look together. It is a pigmented sheen color that I absolutely love.

Here is the new full-size banner for Disney’s Maleficent. It’s beautiful! It captures the essence of the entire atmosphere of the film– literally. You see the dark and eerie forest as well as the enchanted world full of creatures I’ve never seen before. Angelia Jolie does a great job of portraying gorgeous meets evil. And you can see Princess Aurora curiosity in here as well.
