Dramatic Eye Makeup Inspired by Million Dollar Arm

If you’ve been following my blog, you know that I absolutely love dramatic eye makeup.

In honor of the new upcoming movie “Million Dollar Arm” I decided to create a dramatic eye makeup look to get even more excited for the premiere!

I was inspired by the film’s story line, so I decided to create a two-toned cut-crease to recreate an earthy palette symbolizing the baseball field. I  used a dark teal to create a greenish atmosphere and a beige/gold lid color to symbolize unification– one of the main themes in the movie, Million Dollar Arm.

About the Movie

Based on a true story, “Million Dollar Arm” explores the journey of sports agent JB Bernstein (Jon Hamm) to find the next major league baseball star. JB travels to India to produce a reality show competition and discovers two 18-year-old boys that have a knack for throwing a fastball. Hoping to sign them to major league contracts and make a quick buck, JB brings the boys home to America to train. As the boys learn the finer points of baseball, JB, with the help of his charming friend Brenda (Lake Bell), learns valuable life lessons about teamwork, commitment and what it means to be a family.

Dramatic Eye Makeup

To create this look, I started off with Maybelline concealer all over the lid as my base. Then I highlighted the brow bone with a white eyeshadow to add definition to the eyebrows. Using a teal eyeliner, I “carved” out the crease and then started defining the crease even more with fluffy brush and a lighter teal eyeshadow color, gradually fading into the white eyeshadow color. Using a flat brush, I patted the beige/gold eyeshadow color all over the lid. I used a L’Oreal black liquid eyeliner to create a dramatic wing, and then I used a teal eyeliner just underneath the lower lash line to make the eyes really pop. I finished up with Maybelline Falsies mascara on the eyelashes and some concealer under the eyes.

This look was so much fun to do! If you give it a try, let me know (:
I am so excited for the premiere of Million Dollar Arm, are you?

XO,
Aly

Very beautiful. I hate the fact that I wear glasses. I feel like eye makeup gets lost on me.

When I wear makeup, I keep it pretty simple. I am not sure I could pull off such a dramatic look like that, but it looks wonderful on you!
