Disney Makeup: Inspired by Maleficent

If you’re familiar with my Disney makeup posts you’ve already seen a Disney Frozen Blue Eyeshadow makeup look as well as a dramatic eye makeup look inspired by Thor.

Today, I’m sharing with you a Disney makeup look inspired by Maleficent!

I did it on a whim one night after reading about the new upcoming Disney movie: Maleficent– I am SO excited for this one!

“Maleficent” explores the untold story of Disney’s most iconic villain from the classic “Sleeping Beauty” and the elements of her betrayal that ultimately turn her pure heart to stone.

Driven by revenge and a fierce desire to protect the moors over which she presides, Maleficent cruelly places an irrevocable curse upon the human king’s newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Aurora is caught in the middle of the seething conflict between the forest kingdom she has grown to love and the human kingdom that holds her legacy. Maleficent realizes that Aurora may hold the key to peace in the land and is forced to take drastic actions that will change both worlds forever.

They casted Angelina Jolie to play Maleficent and I think she is perfect! She depicts her character so well in the movie from what I’ve seen so far and I am seriously dying to see it already!

Maleficent rises to be the land’s fiercest protector, but she ultimately suffers a ruthless betrayal—an act that begins to turn her pure heart to stone. Bent on revenge, Maleficent faces an epic battle with the invading king’s successor and, as a result, places a curse upon his newborn infant Aurora. The film stars Angelina Jolie as Maleficent, Sharlto Copley, Elle Fanning, Sam Riley, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple and Lesley Manville.

Disney Makeup: Inspired by Maleficent

I used a handful of products to create this Disney makeup look.

The first thing I focused on was my eyes. I applied a Pur Minerals primer and then a NYX eyeshadow base in Milk. The primer is used to keep the eyeshadow smooth and the eyeshadow base is used to make the eyeshadow colors stand out more.

Then I used the NYX Dream Catcher palette in Golden Horizons. I used Silvery Pink in the middle of the lid and then indescent violet in the outer lid and a hint of charcoal in the crease and outer edge. I used the Infalliable eyeliner by L’Oreal to create a thin winged look and lastly I used the Maybelline Falsies mascara.

After my eyes were finished, I did the my face makeup. I used a L’Oreal true match foundation in C2 all over using a beauty blender sponge to apply it. Then I touched it up with a little bit of NYX Matte Bronzer.

For my lips, I used a blend of Melt Cosmetics in Bane and By Starlight. I loved using this combination because it was matte, and I feel like it did a great job of blending and creating a look that resembles Maleficent’s character for this Disney makeup look.

This Disney makeup look was inspired by Maleficent’s dark character and so much fun to create! While I don’t think I would wear this look out everyday, it’s definitely something I would wear when I’m feeling daring.

I hope you enjoyed this look and stay tuned for more Maleficent posts!

That looks amazing! Wow! I need pointers on the winged look you did with the eyeliner. I’ve tried over and over again to get that look and can’t seem to get it perfect.

It was definitely challenging for me at first too! But ever since I got the Infalliable Eyeliner from L’Oreal, it makes it so much easier because the tip is very long. You should try it sometime!
