Restaurant Review: Deliziosa Bistro

I’ve found a new love, guys.

It’s called Deliziosa Bistro, and it’s awesome.

The first time I went to Deliziosa was for my birthday last month with my best friend, Eire and my sister Shay. Since then, I’ve been there 4 times. It’s slowly becoming one of my favorite places to eat out.

At Deliziosa, Italian cuisine meets a Mediterranean twist. They offer a variety of traditional and unconventional dishes that are both appetizing and affordable.

Some of my Family’s Favorites

I’m trying to type this out without drooling all over my keyboard. Two Words: Almond Chicken.

Wowowow! It’s like my tastebuds die and go to chicken heaven when I eat this. This is by far my favorite dish at Deliziosa’s. Every time I go, I tell myself ,”Okay, today you’re going to try something new.” But then, I can’t resist their Almond Chicken! You can’t go to Deliziosa and pass up their Almond Chicken, okay. You just can’t. It is too good.

It’s chicken breast with an almond & breadcrumb crust baked to perfection and smothered in a creamy, sun-dried tomato sauce served over rice and vegetables. It’s the mix of the creamy sun-dried tomato sauce and the nutty flavor of the almond crusted chicken that just puts me in another world when I’m eating this. If you love chicken, you need to try this. Oh, and you’re welcome.

I was definitely surprised by the large portion sizes, but it’s nice if you want to share your meal (which my sisters and I do). The first dish I ever tried at Deliziosa was the Chicken Parmesean. It’s breaded chicken breasts topped with their homemade tomato sauce, baked with mozzarella cheese and served with a side of penne marinara. It was delicious!

One of my sister’s favorites is the Chicken Piccata which is chicken breast sautéed in a lemon sauce with artichokes, sun-dried tomatoes and capers, and served over rice and vegetables. I tasted this when she ordered it and what I really liked about it was that the lemon sauce wasn’t too overpowering, it was just the right amount of citrus and tang to really give the chicken an amazing flavor.

Eire had the Salmon Alforno and she said it was really nice. It’s Salmon stuffed with Portabella mushrooms, spinach, and cheese topped with a lemon cream sauce and served on a bed of linguine pasta and vegetables. She said it was a little on the spicy side, which isn’t a bad thing, just slightly unexpected. She said that the sauce wasn’t as heavy as she thought it would be, it was actually really light and more citrusy than creamy. She said she would definitely get it again.

My most recent visit to Deliziosa was with my sister for lunch. I, of course, had the Almond Chicken, and she wanted to try something new so she had the Chicken Cristini. It was a baked tortilla with grilled chicken breast sautéed in pesto garlic, roasted red peppers, portabella mushrooms and topped with pepper-jack and cheddar cheeses and a pesto cream sauce. It was crunchy, cheesy, and spicy. My sister loved it. Thanks for the recommendation, Beth! (:

My sisters and I always argue over which restaurant we want to go to when we’re eating out because we all like different foods. My oldest loves seafood, the other two love italian pasta dishes, and I’m a die-hard fan of chicken entrees. At Deliziosa we don’t have to settle for one choice or the other because they offer a selection of all of our favorites: seafood, pasta, chicken & beef, and there’s even a vegetarian selection and a kid-friendly menu as well.

Muslims, rejoice because Deliziosa serves halal food! (:

Staff and Service

I love the atmosphere of eating at Deliziosa. It’s a small restaurant that serves around 40 people, but it has a nice family-friendly quality that makes you feel at home. It’s very minimalistic in design and I love how the dim lights offer a romantic sort of feel to the place.

The service at Deliziosa is great. As soon as you walk in, you’re greeted with smiles and hellos from the staff. You sit where you’d like, and they come to serve you as soon as you’re seated, asking if you’d like to start off with anything to drink right away. If you’re having trouble deciding what you’re like to have, just ask the waiters and waitresses what they’d recommend. They do a great job of understanding what you like to eat and offer choices from the menu that compliment your likes. If you’re unsure of what’s in a certain dish, just ask. They seriously know the menu like the back of their hands. Don’t be shy. They’re super nice!

There’s not a long waiting time for your food to arrive to your table, which I love. Especially if I’m short on time for lunch, I know my food will be served right away so I don’t have to sacrifice and get take out. The waiters/waitresses are great. They have good attitudes and did a great job serving us each time we were there. They refill our drinks, ask if we need anything and if everything is going well, they check up to see how we’re enjoying our meals, and always offer a kind smile.

Whenever I’m dining out, it doesn’t matter how great the food is, if the service is bad, I won’t go back to that restaurant. At Deliziosa, not only is their food delicious, but their service is even better. The staff does such a wonderful job taking care of their customers, you will feel like family over there. Huge shout out to the wonderful staff at Deliziosa! Keep doing what you’re doing.

I highly recommend you dine at Deliziosa, I guarantee you will fall in love with the place, just like my family has.

Let them know I sent you (;

Deliziosa is located on 22439 Michigan Ave, Dearborn, MI.

Disclosure: Deliziosa did not compensate me for this review. I wrote it because I love their restaurant! All opinions are genuine and my own.

That food looks yummy, especially your almond chicken. I can definitely understand your wanting to order it every time. One of the best parts of eating out is the leftovers.

I love the ambience of the place — the stone walls add character.
